Come and be a part of Bateman’s Preschool For All program. Children will be engaged in pre-reading and writing activities while playing and exploring the world around them. Literacy, math, science, music and art are integrated throughout the day. There are learning centers that include sand and water tables, art, block play, dramatic play, writing, reading, games and puzzles, science and math. Children will have fun while they learn and begin to get the basic skills they need for Kindergarten.
What is the Preschool For All Program?
Funded by the Illinois State Board of Education, the program provides developmentally appropriate experiences which promote the readiness necessary for success in school. The program promotes self-esteem and enhances the children’s physical, cognitive, language, social, emotional, personal, and creative development.
What is the class size?
The preschool classes enroll a maximum of 20 students.
What are the class hours?
Bateman has two half day programs. The morning session runs from 9:00 – 11:30. The afternoon session runs from 12:15 – 2:45. At least one meal is provided for each session.
How many teachers are there?
There is one teacher and one assistant.
What is the program cost?
The program is free of charge
What age must my child be?
Children must be age 3 by September 1st and toilet trained to attend. Enrollment is based on a screening procedure, which begins in May of the current school year. Priority is given to 4 year olds first.

Applications are available in the Bateman School office or in the Pre-K classrooms.
